After years of searching, we now have a PTZ camera that stands up to barn/farm use. The ESG-IPX2 2.8-12 mm PTZ camera is an IP camera and will connect to either of our systems. The camera has Starlight IR and will operate with live control or using presets. When operating off of slow Internet (when away from the home) or on slow cellular data, it will be difficult to steer the camera and using presets are a must. The camera is auto focusing, 2 MP with an IR night rating rating of 164 feet. It provides a magnification of 4X. The camera is weatherproof and is a wall or side mounted camera.
PTZ cameras are helpful on lots, large indoors and hoop barns, Most of the time, a fixed camera will be cheaper and sufficiently cover your pen, but many times the PTZ will cover the areas of many fixed cameras. The slow moving segments in the video are manual steering. The fast moving segments are using the presets. This camera is a side mount camera so ceiling mounts would require you to drop down a 2x, use a truss or other method of obtaining a side mount.
This is an IP camera and requires Ethernet cable from a POE switch to the camera (supplied by customer).
The above photo's are from a customer. He created the mount that allowed him to view down both sides of the building easily. We do not carry it, but feel it's worth sharing. Would be handy if your lot wrapped around the barn. The lights would not be needed.
