Traditional Wireless Barn Cameras (requires no Internet anywhere)
We no longer sell the Traditional Wireless System. All transmitter/receiver manufacturer has discontinued production of analog only units with the advent of High Definition Video. We have designed an industry first replacement that will allow those with no Internet or only want it on the TV to continue viewing like this system did. It is more expensive, but all cameras show in HD quality and you can move from single to multiple cameras without the rotation like the old system. For more information, visit our Stand-Alone Wireless Video System page. For those who already have this system. Call if you need parts (aside from the transmitter and receiver). If you do lose a transmitter/receiver, we may be able to migrate your system over to our HD wireless system and use your old components. Give us a call.

This system displays on your TV only. It does not require any Internet to view. If you are looking for a system that displays on your phones and computers, check out our High Definition Wireless Cameras.
With the addition of our High Definition Wireless Barn Camera System, we want customers to understand the differences between this Traditional System and the HD system. This barn camera system will not be as clear or high detail as the HD System which operates in 720p or 1080p. However, it is still very effective and easy to install. This is a good alternative if you do not have Internet through a router at the house, or are content with yesterday's image quality. If internet is available and you would like phone connectivity, be sure to review the High Def System. It works out to be cheaper than this system once the phone equipment is added.
About the Transmitter / Receiver (Distances)
Our 2.4 Ghz transmitter/receiver kits have two signal strength ratings: 1000 feet line of sight (standard) and 2000 feet plus (Extended Upgrade) We recommend keeping distances under 500 feet (Standard) and 2000 to 3000 feet (Extended). Both are weatherproof, although most people place the receiver inside the home near the TV or DVR. If you have a brick home, you may need to place the receiver in a windowsill or outside your home. The receiver typically is placed outside on the barn to avoid metal barn walls. If your distance is greater than 3000 feet but you do have line of sight to your barn, give us a call and we'll discuss your options. Our 2.4 kits are digital, so they don't get the interference associated with wireless video like in the past.
If you're unsure of your distance, we recommend visiting and downloading Google Earth. This program is free and contains a button on the toolbar which will allow you to measure distance from your house to your barn using satellite image. It is very accurate.
About The Camera
Our standard camera has a 3.6 mm lens that provides a 90° field of view. 2.5mm 130° lens are also available. Cameras are all color infrared, allowing you to view in a variety of lighting conditions. All cameras are weatherproof.
Power and Cable
The system ships standard with 60 feet of cable (connected from the camera inside to the transmitter outside). This may be increased up to 100 feet for an additional $10. Additional lengths can usually be achieved, just give us a call. The 12 volt DC system is operated off two small AC adapters in to a normal 110 outlet (similar to cell phone charger). The power may be provided on the camera end of the 60 foot cable or the transmitter end, you do not need electric on both ends. Directions are all included, and they indicate how to change power location if needed.
Viewing on your Smartphone and Computer
You may add phone and PC viewing to this system BUT if that is your goal from the beginning, look at the HD system. It will be cheaper, clearer, and will save you money. If you are reviewing this and already have this traditional system, we can add phone connectivity. See the options block below.
Customer Examples.
Prices
These customer examples were captured through a phone feed added to customers previous systems. This represents the image quality you might expect. The larger the TV, the worse the image will blur. It's like sitting too close to the scoreboard at the ball park. There's just not enough data to cover large screens up close. It is usually enough for small to medium sized pens where detailed viewing isn't required and beats walking to the barn.
The below video shows the setup of the traditional system.
The following video represents an example of the Traditional
Wireless Barn Camera System's resolution. From 0 to 11 seconds it shows the video through the Traditional Wireless System. 11 to 25 Seconds would be the same camera in a hard wired setup. Use the view full screen button to show the resolution limitations.
